Today in the Writer Spotlight: Veronica Reid!
Tell me about yourself! How old are you, and where are you from?
Hi, I am a 40 something-year-old native of Northern Virginia, by way of New York and North Carolina.
Give us a summary of your book!
Tired of your 9 to 5? Ready to move on? How to Fire Your 9 to 5 is about how to break free from your 9 to 5 job. In this book, I give you action steps to help guide you on your own journey into entrepreneurship while sharing my personal testimony of how I could break free from my 9 to 5 job and move into becoming a successful business owner. Whether you work in corporate America or work as an essential worker, you will relate to the story that I share while working on the tools that you need to become a successful business owner.
What inspired you to write this book?
2019 was a year of change and transition for me personally. It allowed me to take a bold step into the unknown and rely on faith that God had a plan and to trust Him to see it through. I knew it was time for a change and I could no longer continue on the route that I had been traveling. I wanted to share my journey to help others see that it’s not impossible to pursue their dreams of entrepreneurship.
If you could pick one song to describe this book, what would it be?
There are so many that I could share, but one that best describes my journey is the song titled Victory Belongs to Jesus by Todd Dulaney. In it, he sings how when we go through trials; the victory belongs to Jesus. He’s our provider. In him, we will find our victory and we WILL Win! It’s the perfect song for when you need that reminder.
Have you written any fiction novels as well? If not, would you and what genre?
I have a few story ideas that I am currently working on. My genre is realistic fiction because I love to write stories that people can relate to that are relevant for today. I have also written church plays that have gone into production in the past. What are two of your favorite books? Least favorite?
Two of my favorite books are Joy by Victoria Christopher Murray and Nappily Ever After by Trisha R. Thomas. I had the chance to meet Victoria Christopher Murray in Maryland as I won a free signed copy of her latest book back in 2012. It was a significant experience and a great reminder that I too, will become an author one day. Now that day has arrived. My least favorite book is Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert and the U.S. History textbook that my teacher assigned me back in high school, lol!
Do you have any other hobbies or businesses that you would like to share?

If your child needs help in reading, I will provide a link at the end of this article to contact me. I am also the owner of Natural4U, where I make handmade natural hair and body products. As far as hobbies, I like to write and cook new vegan recipes for my family.
