In The Spotlight Today: Robin Major-Oliphant!
Tell me about yourself! How old are you, and where are you from?
37 year old Robin Major-Oliphant was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio where she spent most of her life up until her mid 20's with most of her family. She earned her Associates Degree of Applied Sciences in 2006 and began working in the Operating Room before she realized that her true passion extended beyond the reach of the traditional hospital setting and she needed something more. She went on to pursue her Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management at The Forbes School of Business where she was challenged to be open to new opportunities, and extend herself to serve in leadership through various organization.
Give us a summary of your book!
In the book series From Pieces to Peace; Robin uses the transparent, tumultuous testimonies of her life as a catalyst for change; to empower others to heal, be delivered from, and overcome the traumas of the past. Robin has been resilient in overcoming real life situations that men and women face daily such as, domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse, self-esteem issues, and depression. All of which Robin has battled with, suffered from greatly, and overcome!
What inspired you to write this book?
The opportunity to empower others to pursue their passion, despite any obstacles they may face. A servant leader; Robin has a heart for God, and her heart's prayer is to positively impact everyone that she connects with, on an intimate level; to provide hope, and be a relate-able source of empowerment and strength for everyone.
If you could pick one song to describe this book, what would it be?
No Bondage by Jubilee Worship because while book one covers a multitude of turmoil, hardship and brokenness, books two and three exposes how I overcame those things and provide the reader with the steps to also overcome and be free from the bondage they may feel bound in.
Have you written any fiction novels as well? If not, would you and what genre?
Not yet. I have considered it therefore if I did it would definitely be a romance/drama. Nothing super lovey dovey.
What are two of your favorite books? Least favorite?
Wow. That is tough because as I read more, I am finding that my favorite book changes.
Right now I am loving A Wife Daily Confessions: Promises, 31 Powerful Life Changing Confessions
I do not have a least favorite though. Even if I have picked up a book and didn’t finish it, I have found that I either learned something new that I could use in life and I do not discount that at all.
Do you have any other hobbies, or businesses that you would like to share?
Aside from being an author, I also do a little publishing on the side. I love helping others to become successful self-published authors without breaking the bank!
