In The Spotlight Today: Fatima Munroe!
How old are you and where are you from?
As a rule, I don’t share my age, lol! Originally I’m from Chicago, but I’ve lived in Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan before relocating right outside of Atlanta.
How old were you when you realized you wanted to be a writer?
I’ve always loved to read, and wanted to write my own books since I was around eight or nine.
Tell us more about your book! What inspired you to write it?
My next book is a spinoff to the Married to a Chicago Bully series (also written by me!). I loved the series, but I also took a lot of heat when two of the main characters died. I purchase my own books to have in my Kindle library, so I was reading over the series one day at work and decided to write a spin off, just for closure with the remaining characters.
If you could relate to any character in your book, who would it be and why?
I relate to all the characters I’ve ever written! Lol, no seriously I relate mainly to the female characters in my books. I put a lot of myself into building their personas in my work and I think it shows when I read through my reviews.
What type of books do you enjoy? What are two of your favorites?
I’ll read almost anything with the exception of westerns and zombies, lol! I have so many favorites that it would be a disservice to pick two out of the many.
Besides reading and writing, what else do you enjoy doing during your free time? Do you have any other businesses?
Presently reading and writing is it for me. However I’m looking to get into public relations for urban authors. I think with the right representation we can change the negative stigma attached to our stories.
If you could pick any song to describe your main character, what would it be?
Do you have any upcoming books in the works?
In addition to a Part 2 for my recent release, Killing Me Softly, I’m working on a Valentine’s Day anthology with a few other authors and a paranormal love story.
